FAQ: What is your photography style?

When I think of my photography style, four words immediately come to mind: elegant, timeless, fresh, and modern. From the moment I picked up a camera, I’ve been inspired by the grace and charm of timeless Hollywood icons like Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire. Their images evoke a sense of nostalgia for simpler times, yet they remain effortlessly current. Capturing raw emotion is how I bring that same timeless feeling to my work today.

Many of my couples tell me they don’t want posed images, but what they really mean is they don’t want stiff images. It’s completely natural to feel a little uneasy in front of the camera. Maybe you’re unsure what to do with your hands, feel self-conscious about a particular feature, or wonder how you and your partner will interact in front of the lens. That’s where I come in. Below are three ways we can work together to create elegant, timeless, fresh, and modern images—ones that truly reflect the beauty of your connection.

1. Choose the Right Wardrobe

What you wear plays a huge role in how comfortable and confident you feel during your session. I always encourage clients to choose outfits that allow them to move freely and feel at ease. For engagement sessions, steer clear of clothing that requires constant adjusting; it can prevent you from fully relaxing. When it comes to your wedding day wardrobe, be open to exploring different styles and silhouettes—you might be pleasantly surprised by what you love! Some designs have a lasting appeal, and simple, classic looks will always outshine fleeting trends.

Ultimately, the most important thing is that your wardrobe feels authentic to you. If it speaks to you, wear it with confidence, no matter the color, pattern, or style.

2. Breathe

It’s easy to forget to breathe when you’re feeling nervous, but shallow breathing can show up in your photos as tension or discomfort. If you’re ever feeling overwhelmed during our session, take a few deep breaths. It's okay to take a break—posing, smiling, and being in front of a camera can be hard work! Breathing deeply will help you feel more centered and calm, which will naturally come across in your photos.

3. Have Fun

This might sound simple, but “having fun” looks different for everyone. For my couples, it often means letting go of rigid expectations for how the day should unfold. Things may not go exactly according to plan, but remember what truly matters—you’re marrying the love of your life, and that’s something worth celebrating, no matter what else happens.

Trust the process. We’ll work together to capture the moments that mean the most to you. Sometimes I might ask you to do something playful or spontaneous to evoke a genuine reaction, but it's all about finding what works for you, your partner, and the vision you have for your wedding day.

And most importantly, soak in every moment. Your engagement, your wedding day—they’re fleeting. In the midst of it all, allow yourself to truly feel the love and joy around you. The photos we capture will serve as lasting reminders of how you felt on this once-in-a-lifetime day.

Conclusion

My goal is to create images that feel effortless, full of emotion, and completely you. Years from now, I want you to look back at your wedding photos and feel the love, joy, and support that surrounded you. These images aren’t just for today—they’re for the generations to come, a visual story of your love that will be cherished forever.
